Laminate click floor we laid in Amsterdam. The Flat is quite large. We started with the underlay and placing the floor packs out so we can reach them easily.

The green underlay is made of paper and has no nasty chemicals in it only a green dye.

  First rows going down

Here is a closer detail from the floor shots we did in the smaller room

Finished and looking great. We took off the skirt board around the room first. Then put it back after the floor was laid. This way the spacing at the sides is hidden under the skirt and we don't have to fit an unsightly beading alongside.

Roof Repair and restoration.

Here is a repair i did on a roof in  Neer  Limburg.

It is the corner above the window next to the ladder. See the closer pic next.

The whole corner was rotten, as you can see from the yellowish piece of timber i started to replace the rotted pieces.

The next piece along the bottom is fixed in.

Here is a close up of the corner with the new b ottom pieces in place. You can see the rot still to be removed top left of the pic.
The top right Mitre has been painted to seal it if water gets in again. It will give some time for the exterior painting to be redone before it rots.

Pic from the front angle, with bottom pieces in place ready for the top ones to go in.

The  Photo above  shows the join of the new piece onto the existing bottom piece. I joined it under the the detail for support beam cap. I love the 1930s design !

As you can see from the earlier pic the top left section is rotten too. More than i anticipated at first. You can see the top right piece is in place. I had to cut back 40com of timber with a` chisel and glue in a new piece with epoxy and fill with two pack filler. This treatment is fine for painted finishes. The paint hides the joins and the filler if sanded correctly.  I will post the finished pics when i get the photos done in the next few days.

Table made from Old Beams and Planks.

This is a table i made from old beams and planks. The  planks were stored in a garage for nearly  30 years waiting to find a good use.  The Legs are made from an old beam that is hundreds of years old.

I love the curve of the Top Planks !

Here is better view of the old beam used to make the legs

The planks fit together so well. I did  not even cut them. They are as they were found in the shed.

Bird Box Design From Pine

This is a bird box i designed with my Partner. We gave it a rubber hinge to keep it water tight ( old tyre ) We wanted to keep the rougher exterior to preserve the colour and the bark.  We also angled the roof lip at the front to aid drainage.

Over all we were very Happy with the design and the finished Piece . It now has permanent home and a family of Tits were raised in it this year.  Contact me for Prices and orders .

Garage Design and Fit out with Pine floorboards

Here are the pics of the garage i lined with old floorboards this winter. I put 100mm of rockwool behind to insulate. We used recycled materials  and the cheapest  untreated timber we could find. It was 11 euro per  sqm. The garage now has a retro wooden cabin look inside. Im going to post more pics when i finish the last wall.

The  batons going on the wall, these all needed spacers at various points because the wall was very uneven.

Insulation in 1m by 60cm pieces placed between the batons and cut where needed. A tight fit is better than a loose fit.  I used rockwool slabs which are very rigid yet flexible. any gaps were stuffed with rock wool offcuts. A stanley knife cuts rockwool very well  and i allow 20mm over to make sure it wedges in tight.

I used a spare piece of board and a piece of oak to persuade the curved boards to stay straight while i screwed them in !.The oak is screwed into the baton and hammered down onto the spare piece of board to wedge it in tight.. Long and slow at times !

Here are the boards just starting on wall one ( left side )

Note the cut around for the garage door bracket.

Here are the boards ( recycled floorboards  ) Up on wall two ( right side )

This is the same wall as the pic above. Now  for the wall with the window in it.

I am currently about to do a big update with more pics when the camera is fixed ! So you can see the finished result of this project including the hangers i made for the tools ! I love  the old retro look of this building design and it was pleasure to work with my clients and Their Ideas for the look of the finished building.
